The Hearth Blanket - Free Crochet Pattern

Once upon a time, during a pregnancy 2 years ago, made a crochet crunch stitch blanket called the Cloud 9 Blanket. From the time I was about half way through that project, I knew I wanted to make a grown up version for myself. Enter Lion Brand Wool Ease Thick and Quick and Go For Faux yarns….

Wool Ease Thick and Quick was the perfect choice of yarn for my adult version of this blanket. Why? The beautiful, extra bulky yarn works up quickly and comes in so many different color options (they're all gorgeous, good luck picking!). Like the Cloud 9 Blanket I made for my son, I wanted the Hearth Blanket to have a distinct and extra cozy border. While the Bernat Pipsqueak yarn was absolutely the right choice for a baby blanket, Go for Faux yarn was 1000% the right choice for this beautiful throw. It makes it look so modern and chic, while also being so comfortable and still practical.

Crochet Crunch Stitch Blanket in Any Size

Along with the fabulous stitch texture, I love using the crunch stitch for blankets and throws because it is SO easy to alter in size. Just start with an odd number of stitches in your starting chain, and you can make this blanket as wide or as narrow as you'd like it to be. You could make it a small lap throw or large enough to fit on a bed. The choice is totally up to you!
